How’s that for a catchy headline you RSS feed scanning freaks.

Thought I’d jot down a few notes about my favorite iPhone app to this point. Ohhhh, I can feel shivers of excitement coming from the collective interwebernets, just try to control yourself.

WeatherBug: slightly better than the built in weather app, has greater detail on weather than my little brain can comprehend. But, whenever my wife asks “hey honey, whats the dew point going to be tomorrow?” I’ll be there with an answer.

Sketches: lots of fun drawing on stuff like photos, maps, webpages etc, probably the best for taking covert photos during meetings, drawing mustaches on coworkers and them emailing them to them (even though I’ve never done that, yet)

Recorder: it is what it says it is. Record audio notes and send them to yourself. Then record yourself listening to your audio note and repeat until you go blind or enter the Matrix.

AIM: I don’t know if you’ve heard of this before BUT there was this company called “America Online” and what it did was, well, I’m not going to bore you with the details check Wikipedia or something. Anywho, they made this thing called Instant Messenger which 1,000,000 years from now will be the only thing AOL will be remembered for, SO, what was I talking about… oh yeah, um, it’s on the iPhone and it’s ok.

WordPress: I waited for this one for like a REALLY long time. Which means about nine months. By internet time standards thats about 20 bajillion years, if Douglas Adams were around he could correct me on that. So, the WordPress app lets me post boring stuff to this blog from my iPhone and that makes me bleed tears of joy.

Facebook: I hate Facebook. I hate Facebook. I hate Facebook. There I said it three times and nothing happened. But, the app works well for what it’s supposed to do. Now if only Facebook actually did, something… anything… useful

Monkey Ball: fun game, puts the iPhones accelerometer to good use. Also, I stink at Monkey Ball.

B-gammon: I love Backgammon and am glad to have it on the iPhone. Oddly enough I only started playing Backgammon when I got the Palm m100 about 8 years ago and wore a deep scuff mark on the screen rolling the dice.

Cro-Mag Rally: Cavemen racing cars = awesome

Tap Tap revenge: I’m too uptight and self conscious to EVER play Dance Dance Revolution in any setting, but Tap Tap gives me the same general game play without actually stomping my feet on my phone.

iPint: If you like beer and like showing off you’re stupid iPhone then get this. I qualify on both accounts.

More Cowbell: just guess what this is

Phone Saber: yeah, guess what this is too

My Lite: If you happen to be going to a Journey concert anytime soon and they start to sing Faithfully, bust out My Lite and set it to “Rock Concert”. It gives you a nice cigarette lighter to hold up and wave around. Oh, also, someone is going to steal your phone if you do that.

Aurora Feint: Easily the most involved and cool game I’ve played on the iPhone. It has also crashed on my 479,366 times, give or take. I love it. I hate it.

Crash Kart: Just downloaded this because everyone is raving about it and I don’t want to be left out. Peer pressure!

Yelp: I love Yelp. Great app for finding places to eat. Someday when it grows up it will play nice with the maps application, include the ability to submit reviews and my head will blow off.

Shazam and Midomi: I can’t decide which one I love more. Both will let me record any type of audio, including my awful singing, analyze it and tell me what song it actually is.

Pandora and Last.fm: Another tie. Both rock (no pun intended) at helping me discover and purchase new music, which is something that iTunes is failing miserably at.

AOL Radio: I’m really shocked that something with “AOL” in it is really this awesome. AOL Radio brings real radio stations to the iPhone as well as internet radio stations.

I’m out of steam.
That’s all I’ve got for now.
Back to trying to wireframe an iPhone app.
